We have a product called ZMOD400 that will do just what you do right now except the comms will run directly on your AS/400. There's all sorts of logging and control features. You shouldn't have to modify your remote PC setup at all. You can download a copy to try out from http://www.softwarejungle.com. > -----Original Message----- > From: Jim Suiter [SMTP:jsuiter@mindspring.com] > Sent: Friday, November 27, 1998 3:24 PM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: Automated dialing to PCs w/data transfer > > We would like to be able to write an application for the AS400 to do > the > following: > - dial into a PC at a remote site > - download database files to the PC > - run an Access application on the PC > - upload database files to the AS400 > - report any part of the process that was unsuccessful > - repeat the above steps for multiple sites > > Some background: The PC application that is using the data was > created with > Microsoft Access, therefore the data is stored in Access tables.
