     To me, it's difficult to answer that question in such an absolute 
     manner. 
     
     Are 90 percent of our applications written in RPGIII? Yes.
     Is most "new" development done in RPGIV? Yes. The way the poll was 
     worded, I had to answer RPGIII since we've got all this code. I'd 
     be willing to bet that most shops don't have the time, resources, 
     or need to completely convert all their apps. 
     
     I've decided to wait on conversion til I have need to do so. I'm 
     not being lazy, just practical. The old phrase "if it ain't broke, 
     don't fix it" applies in full force here, and I'd be hard pressed 
     to explain such an action.
     
     If the question had been worded "What language do you prefer to 
     code in?", then I'd have to say RPGIV.

What no option to say that Java is my primary language  ?? <grin>

Bit saddened to see that so many people are still using RPG III as the
primary language though.  With RPG IV being so compatible it really is hard
for me to understand why people wouldn't use it.  Perhaps that's the topic
for the next survey David - to find out why !!
