OS/400 option 13 (Openness Includes) does provide the structure
definitions for the system APIs in RPG, COBOL, and C. They can be
found in the library QSYSINC. In the case of RPG, source files are
provided for both QRPGSRC and QRPGLESRC though includes for "ILE only"
functions are not supplied for QRPGSRC (how would one use them without
going through some ILE based language as an intermediate?). These
structures however are not BASED in the case of QRPGLESRC.

The RPG names are a bit awkward due to their historic length limitations
and the desire that a given application developer could /COPY any given
set of API includes and not get a compile failure due to name reuse
across APIs. For that reason the names start with a 'Q' and are followed
by a 2 character component identifier. Names are then further
restricted by not generating vowels so as to hopefully avoid any
embarrassing letter sequences; not using EBCDIC variant characters so
as to minimize National Language Support CCSID considerations; and the
like. The names may not be as easily read/understood as ones you can
come up with, but they do take into consideration some things that you
may not have to worry about (or care about).
