Beginning to look now more like a problem with the reverse DNS lookup of the
sending address, and IBM Global Network rejecting it as part of their spam
filtering.

See a couple of the other informative posts regarding this problem from
Bleddyn, Bruce & Wilton.

THAT'S when the problem with the e-mail started for my customer using
AS/400 SMTP for e-mail. Apparently IBM Global Network has a problem with
receiving e-mail from AS/400's and they are "working on it" !!!!

Co-incidentally, the only other e-mail addresses I have seen this problem
on (AS/400 SMTP routed mail) are with e-mail I had bounce back when sent to
addresses "@ibm.net" (Hi Al !) - so I guess it's the same problem.

FYI - I have encountered the same difficulty with email bouncing back from
"@ibm.net" but there's no AS400 in the picture here. Our corporate email
is Notes on Windows/NT. I know our corporate folks use IBM Global Network
to enable mobile users to dial into their Notes mailbox. It probably was
their connection for internet email also. So maybe it's some Notes-induced
problem that is failing on IBM Global Network.
