Garamond,
This is a snipit from a CL using a command "RUNFTP" which was set up
to prevent sending the PW accross in plain site, I do not know a great
deal about how it works, in any case, the syntax for FTP is the same.

For this instance, the file has been placed in QTEMP/CCMSFTP by the
CL, the name of the member in the file is &NEWNM.

Hope this helps.

RUNFTP SYSTEM(&SYSTEM) USER(&USER) PASSWORD(&PW) +
             FILELIST((QTEMP/CCMSFTP *FIRST &NEWNM +
             *PUT)) TYPE(*ASCII) /* PASSTHRU */

Hi,

The problem I have might seem trivial to all you AS-400 guru's out
there.
How can I automate a transfer via FTP-put from our AS-400 to our UNIX
box.
Manual FTP works fine, but Red Book 78 (TCP/IP) say's it can be done
through
FTP-script from whitin a CL program. Since my knowledge of the AS-400
is
second to none I beg of you : Is there someone out there who is
willing to
help me PLEASE ?

Rob, ( willing, but not so gifted )
