Jeff, I do and don't agree with you. I agree that the News/400 sites are unusable. I and many on this list use the Midrange site. No banners, no ads of any kind. Followable topics. Bookmarkable posts. But -- it can be slow, especially in the morning (pacific time). If you haven't checked it out, I recommend it. If you have and still don't like it, sorry. BTW, through Netcom USA, I find the newsgroups too slow for my use as well. The reason I prefer the web forums is that automated software can't scan for e-mail addresses.
