AS/400 Node

Can anyone direct me to a good source to find out how to set up an AS/400
170e as a node on an NT LAN using ethernet connections?  I presume the
clients on the LAN would have access to the AS/400 as if they were local
workstations.  Then, if the LAN were replaced with a WAN, would remote
users be capable of accessing the AS/400?

Thanks for any and all suggestions.
