Be carefull, in germany they work with 220volt current, not 110V. The problems
you are likely to face are more on the hardware front. AS/400 manufactured for
Europe do not follow the same set of standard as the one for america.

I have the opportunity to buy a new 9401 0194 at a good price. The catch
is, it is from a German dealer so the machine and the manuals are in the
German language.

Should I run away from it?

If I don't run,
Does anyone know a person at IBM I can call to verify that I can convert
this machine?
Since the machine is new will the warranty be valid in the US?
How would I get IBM to send me US English version of the "Basepak" which
includes OS/400 v4r1, query, CA for Win 95, etc...? (and the manuals)
How would I get the machine into the US database so that I can buy software
for it?

The reason for my questions is that I have heard of companies buying
machines built here in the US and then having trouble proving to IBM they
own it when they attempted to purchase software and I want to avoid as many
headaches as possible.

Thanks in advance,

Tom
