>Hi! > Welcome to the list. You may be our first poster from Slovakia! How do >you find the support for the AS/400? How is the AS/400 job market - do >you hear the same debates about Windows NT replacing the AS/400? > >Buck Calabro >Commsoft, Albany, NY >(250km north of NY City) >mailto:mcalabro@commsoft.net AS/400 support comes from IBM (service, ECS) and IBM business partners. Probably most effective is via internet. (this list, comp.sys.ibm.as400, as400service.ibm.com) AS/400 buy mostly banks , big and mid-sized companies. Due to exchange rates (big money for HW&SW, low stuff salaries) TCO does not apply here, important is stability and reliability. Another point is that we are small country, so AS/400 business is small also (5000000 people, 500 machines). I work with AS/400 8 year (last 5 in this company) and as far I know (and hope), we don't think about replacing (opinions expressed... .-))) Pavol Martos Priemyselna banka Kosice +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
