We have a customer with a VB application using ODBC to update a physical file through a logical file on the AS/400; The application seems to be "seizing" (IBM's description) groups of records; the task CFINT (common func interrupt), the underlying task, is using 40% of CPU cycles (this is typically a comm failure, disk failure, or a physical problem); it happens only after the VB pgm has been used; CFINT may stay for hours and then clear itself; can’t look at joblog or anything because there isn't any; it sometimes clears when user signs off; it's using QCMDDMF file in QSYS; called an ICF file suggestion by IBM was to change changed logical files using *MAX *1T instead of *4GB; should change way file is processed in blocks (bigger); we have done that; does this look familiar to anyone?
