Hello - Some of the users on our system like to adjust the RUNPTY of their batch jobs with the reasoning that their job is more important than anyone else's... When they get impatient they change the RUNPTY from 50 to 30... It is my understanding that it is best if you leave the RUNPTY's equal for all the batch jobs running in the same subsystem and memory pool and to let the system allocate resources as needed. I've always believed that raising the priority of one job in the pool/subsystem is poor system management.... Would anyone care to comment on this? I want to discuss this practice with our users, but if lowering RUNPTY's isn't a big deal then I won't pursue it.. thanx in advance... Kenneth -- ******************************** Kenneth E.
