The only time I had to do an IPL to get out of a sticky problem was when we used AnyNet on our test 400. AnyNet was new and I was the only user on the machine at the time. I haven't trusted AnyNet since. Now, in the past, I've had to bring tcp/ip down and up a few times, but I haven't had to do that since we got our risc boxes with v4r1.
