None of the system request options seem to work, and I >*HATE terminating an AS/400 session without signing it off first! > >On my old 3196 dumb terminal I used to do a Test Request, Cancel. > >Buck Calabro Create for yourself a profile called 'X' on the target machine, password = 'X'. The program does 1 thing: SIGNOFF with the ENDPASTHR parm set. Local users can use it, too; so whatever the profile does should monitor for any message a local user might receive. Now, when you're passed through to the 'other' machine, you can use X/X get back where you came from. Also helpful for folks who go 'exploring' and fing themselves stuck at the doorway to a strange machine. On a local machine this also resets the message, "You've used too many bad passwords; next invalid attempt varies device off." This can be a mixed blessing... As far as passing through goes, how 'bout a profile whose only claim to life is to pass through to that other machine. Then, if you have to cancel it, you aren't cancelling much. --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
