Once the logical is created, and the link to the physical established, that's it. If you have the source code for the logical file, just compile it into the library where the physical file lives. You -can- clone a logical file, assuming you have 2 identical files (same record layout, format names, etc. etc.) in 2 separate libraries, 1 of which has a logical file pointing to it. 1) Make sure that both the logical and the physical it references are in the same library! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! If they are not in the same library, use the MOVOBJ command so they are. You can move the logical back where it came from once you're done cloning it. 2) Use the CRTDUPOBJ command and duplicate the LF to the library where the 2nd physical file lives. Done! Move the 1st logical file back where it came from. --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
