Verify IP address program? -- MIDRANGE-L

Folks:

A while ago I posted a message with a program that would verify the IP
address of a remote system by pinging the remote system and receiving
the messages that ping generated.

Unfortunately, I seem to have lost the source... does anyone have a copy
of it handy?
