Re: System Time

I think that in either the Trade or the T&A cases, (1) Someone In Charge
should verify the correct time of day, and (2) the Official Time Of Time
Changing should be known by one and all (ie "At precisely 2:13.5 each day,
based on current system time, the time will be adjusted to match the time
as broadcast on WWV.").

There is and AS/400 program to fetch the time from the Navy Observatory or
some such; it's available (but I forget just where I saw it).

The way this process works on my Macintosh computer, you dial the
observatory, which repeatedly announces the time.  Your computer then
adjusts your time to match the announced time.  This minimizes response
problems (although the Time Changing job should run at a high priority to
avoid delays).
