  • Subject: What follows V4R3?

Now that V4R3 is officially announced and V4R4 is being talked about in early
1999,
I'm curious about what this esteemed list sees for the future. Copper chip
technology
should be available in late 1999 or early 2000. Do you think there will be a
V4R5 or
will it be V5R1? When will V5 happen? With the content of V4R3 and the probable
content of V4R4, what do people need that's not there? Will the AS/400
metamorphis
into a new machine (I know the machine has done that while keeping the old name)
with a new name to quiet the critics who call it "old architecture"?

What do you think?
