Hi all. We recently completed a cisc to risc (model 320 to 640) migration (unload-reload). Once on the new machine, we noticed that our directory entries were missing. We restored the appropriate QAO* files from qusrsys and got them back. The next day, we noticed qusrsys was *backlevel. We restored it from our cisc pre-upgrade save and then overlayed it with the risc version. It came back as *compatible and everything looked and worked ok for a few days. Last week, I noticed that Extended Base Support was now in *error. Spoke to IBM and they said once qusrsys or qgpl becomes backleveled, you have to do a sequence of steps, including creating dslo tapes, etc but basically you have to scratch. AAgghh! I can't believe a scratch is the ONLY option. They claim I can install extended base support again but we will continue to get problems of an "unpredictable nature". I believe them because we are getting various errors (exit pgm not found is one eg.) and when working through these problems, we always get back to the qusrsys backleveled issue. We had a consultant assisting with the migration (and yes Al, we WERE following the roadmap but at some point may have installed qusrsys out of sequence - somewhere - somehow; you can slap me when you see me in Anaheim..)....any ideas anyone ??
