Dave, I would be willing to look at your code if can send me: 1. a copy of the RPG program 2. a sample CP 37 1 record input file (in hex) 3. a sample CP 819 1 record input file (in hex) 4. a hex listing of the resulting CP 819 2 record file Your general approach should work (in my personal opinion) and I would like to investigate a bit further. Thanks, Bruce > >I am opening both files using O_TEXTDATA in the oflag. I am not getting >any error message - it's just that the data from the file using the >codepage of 37 is garbled. I was able to get around it by using the CPY >command and copying the file with the 37 codepage to another file - >using 819 in the TOCODEPAGE parameter. I can then use this new file and >everything's fine. I was just hoping to be able to elimiate the extra >step. > >Dave > +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
