I had similar problem with attachments that were greater than the size set
in CHGPOPA MSGSPLIT(xxxx). I changed to 2 meg (2048) and it fixed problem.
BTW, a gentleman from Gumbos Software clued me into this when I had same
problem while testing their Spoolmail product. I changed it to 2 meg and
everything worked great. He mentioned that there is also a way to turn it
off completely.

We are beginning to use our AS400 as a mail server and in general it seems
to work fine except for sending attachments. We receive attachments
correctly it appears but recipients sent attachments from us report
receiving only garbage. I sent myself a JPEG file from home and it looked
just fine when I retrieved it at work the next day. But when I sent the
same file back to myself the message was full of junk. It looked as if the
binary information of the file had been deposited into the body of the
message rather than "attached."

We send a quite a few documents, so we really need this to work properly.
Can someone point me to a setting to change or offer some suggestions how I
might fix this problem? The POP section in the TCP/IP Reference is no help.
