I encountered a wierd problem that's been bugging me all afternoon:
I have the following in an RPG 4 program (V3R7):
d sbsqbatch c const('QBATCH ')
d sbsqinter c const('QINTER ')
d sbsqpgmr c const('QPGMR ')
d jdata ds
d sbsname 2 11 Subsystem name
d jobname 4 13 Job name
...
c if sbsname = sbsqbatch
<process qbatch>
c endif
...
c if sbsname = sbsqinter
<process qinter>
c endif
...
This works fine. But I get errors if I use the following in the calcs:
c if (sbsname = sbsqbatch) or +
c (sbsname = sbsqinter) or +
c (sbsname = sbsqpgmr)
<process subsystems>
c endif
The compiler gives me this error for each of the lines in that if
statement: *RNF7421 (severity 30) Operands are not compatible with the
type of operator.
This doesn't make sense; I'm just using a combined if rather than
seperate IFs. Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Loyd Goodbar
