I've tried to create such an animal by FTP'ing a valid file down to my PC and
then FTP'ing it back up with a name that begins with a number. But the target
file 12345 got renamed to #2345.

I tried using Explorer, (not Internet Explorer, you'd be amazed at how many
people assume that's what I mean when I say Explorer, when I mean Windows
Explorer) and opening QSYS.LIB then MYLIB.LIB and renaming it from there. It
won't let me. Now the darn thing has a lock on it and it won't let me delete
it using PDM. I use WRKOBJLCK and there is no object or member lock that I can
see. Can you quid pro quo and help me out of this one? Or since it was such a
teeny file I just wait for the next IPL?

Subject: HERE's a good one - object name problem...

Hi folks,

JUST noticed this one... we have an object in a user library that shows
a name of all numbers. It is a date starting with 0 and contains six
numbers...

It shows as Type *FILE and Attribute PF-SRC.

You cannot bring it up in Display Description, rename it, bring it up in
PDM, delete it, etc. because it is NOT a valid name...

HOW did it get on the system ???

(and how can I get RID of it... ?)

Thanks !

Chuck
