Roy,

As long as the files you need to convert to ASCII do not contain any packed
data you should be fine.

There are serveral ways to download to the PC and most convert the data for you
in the process. Doesn't your 5250 emulation software have a utility to do this?

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to convert files from a system 36 to ASCII text format for
download to a pc. I am trying to convert a copy of the arhis file on the
machine to be transferred to a pc for research purposes. If not, I am
going to lose all my data when 2000 rolls around.
Also I am wondering if you can keep rolling the date back on a 5363 so
that I could still keep all of my data files in the machine? I would like
to be able to keep the date at dec 1 1999 for that day and beyond. Is it
possible or does the internal clock think otherwise?

Thanks,

Roy Schnauss
