Rich: We use ProGen Plus, though not the ILE version. It's much easier to use (not to mention cheaper) than CASE tools such as SYNON or AS/SET. We even have people who are not programmers (on my staff, not users) able to generate some pretty sophisticated stuff. The programs generate in minutes, way faster than the other CASE tools. Tech support is good (although it always varies by who you get), we have asked basic questions and they are patient. There are incredible productivity gains in interactive programming. For some reason, there is no productivity gain in generating report programs. I guess this is because there is nothing better in the world (that I have seen) than RPG for generating reports (hence the name, I suppose). There is also a vendor sponsored mailing list with little traffic, say two messages a week. Software updates are downloadable from the web and they refresh the product frequently. -- Alan Novick Pressman Toy Corporation New Brunswick, NJ Richard Taylor wrote: > Hi all, > > Currently our company is reviewing an RPGILE program generation product > called Progen Plus written by BCD.
