Matthias-- Virtually all well-known third-party 5250 emulation vendors have promised support for the device naming over IP without AnyNet. Some, including Wall Data and Synapse, are delivering device naming today. These vendors' solutions require the same PTFs that IBM's CA/400 does and work down to V3R2. As for less-AS/400 centric vendors' Telnet products (such as Distinct and Hummingbird), expect it to be a lot longer, if at all, for them to deliver named device support. I don't know about IBM's plans for the Warp TN5250 client. rp +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
