RE: FTP file transfer from a CL Pgm

Tony,
What we have done is create a CMD/CL wrapper around the FTP command that
will allow the users to specify files/target systems.  We use it for
AS400-AS400, AS400-RS600, and AS400-NT file transfers.
We have hard coded the user profile/password in a data area that is in a
secured library and adopted authority on the CL program.
One of the problems we had was the FTP command always "completes normally"
(due to QUIT).  We use ROBOT to schedule our jobs and this was triggering
reactive jobs on normal completion, even if there was an error.  So we
created the CL program to trap errors and spool off either a normal or error
completion script for debugging.  
We allow PRE and POST run commands as part of this process to kick off RS600
scripts before and after the FTP.
You should be able to execute a SBMRMTCMD as a post run command after the
FTP completes to submit a job on the target AS400.
