  • Subject: Auto Deleting of Controllers and Devices
  • From: Sannan Solberg <SSolberg@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

We have mulitple AS/400's and have had various "devices" (people)
connecting to them with named devices/controllers (Rumba) and now
connect via QPADxxx devices so I have lots of leftover crap from days
gone by that is a pain to clean up by hand. I know there is a way to
have the system auto-delete devices and controllers and thought I had it
setup. I assumed my change wouldn't take place until the next IPL but
we have IPL'd all our boxes at various times long since I made this
change (on the ethernet line description, I think?) and didn't seem to
make any difference.

Does someone have a cookbook on how to get this done properly or can
point me to a good resource (IBM online library books?) to find it?? We
run V3R7, V4R1, and V4R2, if it makes any difference. TIA!
