if your default subsystem for interactive jobs is qinter, and you haven't set a 
separate
subsystem up for them, and routed them there,  qinter is where your dial-up job 
would go.

perhaps the other programmer slipped into another subsystem you have defined 
that was left up
that had workstations defined that meet the criteria of the caller.  but if 
your boss was
working out of qinter when you brought it down, you zapped your boss.  hmm..
