after switching a customers 620 from V4R1 to V4R2 last weekend I
couldn't connect to the system with a plain telnet session any more.
I could successfully connect to the system using Client Access and
IP. However, when I checked the CA connection I got error CWBCO1007
which says that there is a problem with the telnet port (that is my
interpretation. The error text is written in "IBM German".).

Using the command WRKSRVTBLE I checked the service tables. The only
telnet-related entry was one for the IPX transport protocol named
telnet-x on port 32477. After I added two additional entries for
port 23 (tcp and udp) named telnet the problems went away.

Has anyone noticed similar problems and/or does anyone have an
explanation why this problem showed up after we upgraded to V4R2?
Shouldn't there be a default entry for telnet on port 23?

TIA and Gruss - Wolfgang
