I used the instructions someone else posted here a while back. Basically, you create a message file, create message descriptions in that file, then reference those message descriptions in the DDS of the custom sign on screen. You can then edit the message file on the fly. I wound up creating a small CL with a dummy sign on screen which allows me to edit the message lines and see what the sign on screen is going to look like before saving. I also defined the first message line as blinking red. We will probably leave the red line blank most of the time, but it allows us to put something like "ATTENTION" there if we have a message we really want people to notice.
