Hello All! Has anyone written to an AS/400 data queue from a Java client on a PC using sockets? The client will be sending a part number, followed by a (variable) list of component parts. The Java programmer wants to send one big variable length entry to the 400. I think that, from a 400 design point of view, it might be best to receive one entry per part, one entry per component part, rather than parsing out one big entry (and risk exceeding the max entry length). Can anyone tell me if there is a big performance variance, and would it be prohibitive? Please share _any_ experiences or observations that you think might be helpful to know. This is brand new stuff for us.
