Guy,

This is quite common in the UNIX world with NFS (Network File System), and I 
know
that the AS/400 supports some version of NFS, I just don't know if it has
progressed to supporting tape NFS mounts.

I'd poke around in the IFS documentation, and see how broad NFS support is.
