re: a Sys/36 client

Since you mentioned Internal web I assume that you are going to trash most, if 
not all, of the twinax terminals and attach the PC's with LAN boards.  I don't 
know what you are trying to do with the Internal web system.  I would evaluate 
Notes along with the other AS/400 solutions.  Will you be making the move to NT 
on the workstations?  We became much more stable when running Client Access 
under NT than 95.  95 caused many problems.  IMHO 95 is a fine operating system 
for HOME computers.  You can run Windows 3.11 with Client Access and Notes if 
you want to.  Excuse my vast ignorance on NT, but if you are running NT 
workstations I suppose you need an NT server?  You may want to evaluate NT on 
the IPCS.  Also, with NTServer, (not to be confused with running NT on the 
IPCS!), you can set up 'shares' on the 400.  These shares can point to 
directories on your 400 that you can find with the WRKLNK command or to output 
queues also.  I like the shares better than just allocating space under NT on 
the IPCS.  With the shares you can actually see the objects on the 400 - and 
use AS/400 SAV and RST commands.  When you just use the NT/IPCS drives you get 
just one big honkin' space.
