Well, I was rather enjoying the speculation on this, so I didn't reply.  Since
no further guesses appear to be forthcoming, I'll answer.  Actually Vernon was
right, from a certain point of view!  The year of our Lord nineteen hundred
and seventy-eight was the first time I was asked to lay hands on a computer
for money -- a S/3 Model 10.  As a business system consultant that believes in
being pro- rather than reactive, there hasn't been a calm day since :-0!
