We've run into this problem and I thought I better let you know what is up. We have multiple 400's on different releases. Our development machine is always running IBM's latest and greatest. We tried to restore a physical file to one of our V3R2 machines and it wouldn't let us. Kept telling us that the new edit code was not supported. And while there is a new edit code available on V4R2 we weren't using it. (I don't even remember what it is.) We finally determined that the problem was that we were using the date edit code Y on an 8 digit field. V3R2 doesn't support this. All the more reason to use field reference files and use EDTWRD instead of edit code. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
