John,

I also appreciate Deans well written and reasoned response to David P. My
intent was simply to make him aware of my recent good experience converting to
RISC. I had no idea that he had apparently gotten lots of other notes on the
subject. Personally, I don't believe that it reflects badly on this list.
Rather, it reflects badly on the shallow, unsubstantiated and largely
insignificant "facts" that are being passed off to us as news, and we're buying
it. This is not a slam against David P. It's everywhere. It's the same
methodology that Sadam uses when he rails against the UN inspectors for being
US agents and never mentions the nerve gas issue. If you say it loud enough and
often enough, it will (hopefully) become true.

Maybe we need to make a little noise. If we do it with good humor and courtesy,
what's the harm? I'll bet Mr. Pendery won't forget this incident for quite a
while. It might even influence him to be a little more careful in
differentiating between hype and fact. That would be a good thing for all of us.

Pete
