When one of our users tries to use Client Access he gets the message
"CWBLM0020 - License manager software error.....".
We have tried reinstalling CA several times to no avail. We are on
version V3R7M0 and I'm pretty sure I've loaded all the relevant PTF's as
we had this problem before and it "went away". The user is using Windows
NT 4 over TCP/IP. I've checked Dejanews and other advice on this
problems is to load the latest PTFs. The FAQ provided by IBM says:

It was found that the length of the license user is different
when used by a legacy client versus an optimized client resulting in
message CPF9E1F being issued to job QZSCSRVS in QSYSWRK. If your system
is at V3r1 then PTF SF25759 (5763SS100) will fix this problem.

What do they mean by legacy client and optimized client?

One thing that was annoying was the fact that when I tried to reinstall
CA on the user's pc I couldn't delete the existing version as Windows
was supposed to be using some of the objects. How can I get round this?

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Paul Draper
