3476 is a Twinax Display Station. Your console perhaps? I think this
unit might support dual session, in which case, your WSC config would
show more than one device on port 0. Though I don't think it's
absolutely required anymore, your system console is supposed to be the
only device attached to port 0 (that may only apply to port 0 address
     0).

Subject: After IPL questions
Author: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > at INTERNET

I performed an IPL this morning on our 620, which took about 10
minutes, and I have 2 questions.

1) I received the following message twice:

        * *Attention* Device *N on resource *N failed.

Looking at the details, I see:

 Reporting device type . . . . . . : 3476
  Model . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 0EA
  Feature . . . . . . . . . . . . :
  Serial number . . . . . . . . . : 00-*******
  EC level . . . . . . . . . . . :
Symptom string . . . . . . . . . : 5769 SRCB0700006

Anyone know what a 3476 device is? I could not find it by
looking at the hardware resources. Where would I find this
information?

2) This message appeared:

        IP over SNA not activated.

This is caused by having *YES on the parameter Allow Anynet support
under the network attributes. Why would I want IP over SNA? I think
this setting was set because we're using NetSoft software to connect
using Anynet over TCP/IP. For this, though, I don't think we need to
have *YES on this option. Is this correct? Any pointers on this
subject to the manuals would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Marc Zylka ( marc@netpath.net )
