  • Subject: V4R2 and MS SNA server

Recently we upgraded from V3R7 to V4R2 of OS/400.

We have experienced problems with PCs using Netsoft router
connected via MS SNA Server V3. After a period of time the PCs lock up,
and devices on the AS400 show as being active even when they have been
disconnected.

We have managed to solve this by going back to the old job
structures for target display pasthru support rather than using the new
jobs QPASVRP, and QPASVRS jobs in QSYSWRK.

IBM were unable to help with this problem as they do not support
MS SNA server, has any else encountered these problems at V4 of OS/400.
