I can see the originator, and therefore the list software must have access. I
can't imagine why Lotus would chop this out but if this is the case, maybe the
standard footing could be enhanced to include the originator? I only have
experience with generation E-mail on the AS/400 so I have no idea whether this
is a stupid idea or something that would be easy to do.

Lou is correct, and cc:Mail is one of the primary culprits. I moderate a BPCS
mailing list off of MIDRANGE.COM and, until I broke down and purchased my
765D, had to hope like heck that people signed their notes when I was out of
town at any client site using a cc:Mail client for e-mail. I don't know if
this is a setup problem with cc:Mail, or if it just cannot properly handle
mail from a LISTSERV...
