Prophetic words indeed. I spent a good portion of yesterday trying to make
this thing work. I think I've followed all instructions, but it won't boot
up. I've installed PTFs, I've read manuals, I've searched through Info
APARs. I can't even access the Network Station Manager Program from my PC
because I'm "Forbidden..."

This is from the "Network Station-Getting Started" redbook:
"The IBM Network Station is easy to install, use, and manage." The first few
chapters seem to be variations on that theme. I have yet to reach any "how."

Why did they give them away? If their intent was to prove how easy these
things are to set up and use, they blew it as far as I'm concerned. In the
time I've "played" with this thing (and at this point it is nothing more
than a curious toy) I could have configured and installed three or four PCs.
I've got plenty of other things to spend my time on. I may just have to let
this "toy" gather dust.

standard announcement...

You are going to be surprised at how much time you spend on
this little freebie...

This takes me back to the days when you got a full set of glasses
for a fill-up of high test gas.......

Well, I'll let you get back to the books, you have a LOT of reading
to do.......

Good Luck... this advice will self-destruct in 10 seconds.....
