To send via Outlook, you need to have SMTP running. POP is for
your outbound. When you do a "Send", it is via SMTP.

Subject: POP and WSG

We've been up and running on our new 620 (V4R1) for two weeks
now. And we'd
like to start using some of the Internet features.

I've been trying to set up a POP3 server but I can't seem to
connect to it
using my mail client (Outlook). I've followed the steps in the
TCP/IP manual
(we've been running TCP/IP for about 3 years) and have gone over
the POP3
section in the redbook "Cool Title About the Internet" but I
can't send any
mail. Outlook says, "Unable to log on to mail server" or
something similar.
Anyone else had problems with POP? Any suggestions? The TCP/IP
manual also
refers to a "Client Access mail client." I've been using Client
Access for
years and have never seen anything in the product remotely
resembling a
"Mail client." Could they possible be referring to the "AS/400
service" that
you can add to Outlook as a full-blown "client?"

We're also interested in using the Work Station Gateway. We
think it might
be very useful for allowing our customers access to our
database. Is anyone
else using this? How is it working out for you? Any "gotchas" to
be aware
of? Is security a problem?
