  • Subject: "Accounting" software add-on or work-around for FAX/400???
  • From: Taylor Enterprises <taylor@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
  • Date: Thu, 30 Apr 1998 08:46:57 -0400 (EDT)

We have 14 PCs networked to an AS/400, and have installed Facsimile Support
for OS/400. We have multiple clients, and intend to use the FAX/400 for
fax broadcasts on their behalfs.

The idea is for individual PC users to be able to do the faxing from their
word processors. We have installed the client software on the relevant
PCs. When each PC boots up, it logs on to the network as user COMMON.
Specific user profile logons occur only when a user initiates an AS400
session through CA.

Because we invoice clients for fax costs, we need to be able to track the
activities and, ultimately, the costs. Is there a work-around, or is there
separate software available, that would allow us to track, by user by
telephone number, fax activity? I'm looking for a report in the format:

USER DATE FAX NUMBER # OF PAGES

Any assistance is gratefully received.

TIA
David Petrie
