My intention in making Telnet/400 available to the mailing list was not
to solicit sales, I was simply looking for some professional feedback
before I provided it to my users, and I thought some people might find
it interesting. From the reaction I got I think that's probably true. 

My goal with Telnet/400 is for a very small, self-contained program that
provides basic green screen access to the AS/400, in the sense that the
Windows Telnet client provides access to computers with VT100 terminals.
This makes it easy to install and set up, and difficult for the users to
screw up. I probably will not be adding a lot of bells and whistles
(macros, customized keyboards, etc.).

A number of people have convinced me that I should offer Telnet/400 as
shareware. However, I will not use this list to promote it in any way.

I will be making some changes as a result of the feedback I have
received which will be posted on the web page below. If you are
interested in continuing to use Telnet/400 check the website from time
to time. And please continue to send me any comments that you have at
