If you created the TCP/IP printer with the CRTOUTQ command, then it is actually not a printer, it is only an output queue. That is the reason why users cannot put the name of the "printer" in the DEV parm of the CHGSPLFA command. I'm not sure how to get it to show up as a printer in the list that you specified. If you are on V3R7 or greater, then you can actually use the CRTDEVPRT command to specify the TCP/IP printer as an actual device. Use the following command to do it: CRTDEVPRT DEVD(TCPPRT) DEVCLS(*LAN) TYPE(3812) MODEL(1) LANATTACH(*IP) PORT(9100) + PARITY(*NONE) STOPBITS(1) TRANSFORM(*YES) MFRTYPMDL(*HP4) + RMTLOCNAME('999.999.999.999') SYSDRVPGM(*HPPJLDRV) TEXT('TCP/IP printer') This example is for an HP LaserJet 4. Note: this may not work with HP laserjet 3 series printers. After varying on the device, you should be able to see it on the system just like a regular printer. The only thing you need to change on this example is the DEVD, MFRTYPMDL, and RMTLOCNAME parameters if you are using a Laser Jet printer.
