Since your RUNQRY is within a CL program, how about writing a black box program 
which prints
report cover pages, override the print file to the same name as that used by 
RUNQRY (not
logged on ... can't look that up for you) and do a shared open?

This program would print page 1 of the spooled file and the RUNQRY would append 
the same
spool file.

Whadda ya think?
