Hello Carl,

These are database server system jobs which are responsible for rebuilding
access paths. Usually caused by
doing a restore without having saved the access paths but there are other
causes.

QDBSRV01 is an event handler and passes the work off to the other QDBSRVxx jobs.

QDBSRV01 runs at priority 9 (because it needs to get the event notification
quickly), the others run at
priority 52 to do the rebuild. Under normal circumstances they shouldn't
affect your system noticably
(although they will use CPU) but occasionally the priority 9 job has a problem
with lot's of events and locks
and can kill the system.

You will find a small amount of documentation on all the system jobs in the
Work Management Guide in Chapter
13.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
