I've been having some rather strange problems with my Quadrant FastFax servers (twinax) lately. I wondered, since I'd seen a number of folks on this list indicate that they are FastFax customers and recommend the product (myself included), has anyone else had anything similar to this happen?: Problem #1: All indications are that the server is up and running normally. FastFax shows it as active, wrkcfgsts shows all devices/jobs up and running, anyone faxing to the server will do so successfully - if they have an alphanumeric display they'll even see our company name, indicating that communications between their fax machine and our fax server are fine. Problem is, the faxes never make it to the AS/400. Quadrant recently replaced the server but the problem has recurred after only a few days. To make matters worse, when Quadrant tech support dials onto the box to recover the faxes for me (and diagnose the problem I guess), there are no faxes to be found. It's a real problem to have customers thinking they successfully faxed an 'order', only to have us not respond at all because we never actually received it. Problem #2: Our other FastFax server will be sending faxes and suddenly lose contact with the 400. In this case, FastFax shows the line to be in error (and produces messages to this effect) but wrkcfgsts shows all devices/jobs active and running and there are no OS/400 messages indicating a problem. The only solution is to re-boot the fax server - to me it sounds like a PC hang type problem. I have to wonder if I'm the only one who has recurring problems with these servers. Quadrant tech support has been working with me for a couple of weeks now and we thought the new replacement server was the cure, but alas ... same problem. I'd love to hear from anyone who might shed some light on either of these problems. In fact I'd be interested in hearing from you whether you have a solution or not. Thanks!!
