In the middle of the screen there are Allow > Read, Allow Write, Allow Update and Allow Delete fields, are they all Yes? As I said in my response to Marks question, these settings are totally disregarded by IBM software. Even with all these settings set to *NO (BTW The crtpf only allows you to set the alwupd(*NO) alwdlt(*NO) flags, I had to write a ILE/C program to set the other flags) SEU and DFU will happily write, read, update and delete records from these files. There other flags in the object template that IBM software actually looks at, but are not shown by any customer DSPxxx cmd. If these flags are set correctly, then the file will be protected - even from (some of the) IBM software --phil -- Phil Hall ________________________________________________ email . . . . : hallp@ssax.com phone(w). . . : (312) 258-6319 News/400 C/C++ Forum moderator at; http://www.news400.com/c/index.htm ________________________________________________ +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
