Those of us who started out as telephone support gurus probably all have 
similar "strange but true" stories -
here's mine:

Call comes in from a lady attempting to void a check in our accounts payable 
package (AS/400 based package,
so this is marginally on-topic ;)).  Customer is asked "did you access menu A, 
did you take option B, etc" exactly
per the manual, but she insists "Yeah I did all that, but the darn check's 
still there."  Programmers are
consulted, debuggers are run, ad-nausem.  Finally the customer is fed up and 
(literally) screams into the
phone "THIS SYSTEM STINKS - I'VE WRITTEN VOID ON THE CHECK IN BIG RED LETTERS 
AND THE D*&^$
THING STILL SHOWS UP IN THE COMPUTER!"

A lot of people must've ignored the "NO DIVING" signs at the shallow end of the 
gene pool :)
